The French Garden is a palace for all the senses. As you enter, flowers, trees, fine woodwork, leather, linen, glass, tile and stone set the stage for the culinary delights to come. Your meal starts with an amuse of the day, a tasty surprise chosen by Chef Stephane Roy to wake up your palate. Next comes fresh bread hot from the pastry kitchen and served with butter made each day from local organic cream. Wines from France and California are selected by the chef for pairing with your meal and served in elegant glasses.
The emphasis on freshness continues as your appetizers arrive and salads are served with lettuce picked that morning. French beans just off the farm are crisp and flavorful and tomatoes that were on the vine the same day are rich and sweet. It’s only 7 minutes from the 30 acre farm that Dan Smith and Joan Marler have owned for over 20 years and it shows in all of the dishes that are graced by their carefully selected fruits and vegetables.
Fresh fish, grass fed beef, local duck, and wild boar create an entrée menu that will delight you over and over. Then comes dessert; house made organic ice cream with wild blackberries, raspberry sorbet made with berries fresh from the farm, chocolate soufflé, opera cake and much more. And to top it all off, organic fair trade coffee from our local roaster Taylor Maid, the best coffee we have ever found!
But wait! Maybe you’re just looking for a relaxing time with a bowl of mussels, some fresh French bread and a few beers or a steak sandwich with fries and a scotch on the rocks. You’ve also come to the right place! The brasserie at the French Garden has an extensive small plate menu with a full bar and ambiance to die for. When we say it’s at the top of the hill, we mean it!
Or maybe you are looking for a private space for that birthday party, wedding rehearsal dinner, reception or business meeting. We have just the place for you. Whether your party is 20 or 200, whether you want a buffet or a five course meal, we are ready to serve you. The party has just begun, so join us when you can for a treat you won’t forget.
