Renowned English Shakespearean director Sir Peter Hall will present ''As

You Like It,'' starring his daughter Rebecca as Rosalind, Tuesday through May

5 at the Curran Theatre, 445 Geary St., San Francisco.

Hailed as the best actress in the role since Vanessa Redgrave more than 40

years ago, 20-year-old Rebecca Hall plays a young woman who, disguised as a

boy, runs away from home to encounter romance and intrigue in the Forest of

Arden.

Founder of the Peter Hall Company in 1988 and the Royal Shakespeare Company

in 1960, the director has been bringing Shakespeare plays to the stage for 55

years. Hall will turn 75 later this year.
