What's good: John Payne's "One-Armed Bandit" show, a favorite in recent years, adds something fresh to his rodeo novelty act every time.

Inside tip: Budget some extra bucks if you're a rodeo buff. These events aren't included in fair admission: Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) events cost $10-$12; and Charreada, or "Mexican Rodeo," tickets are $12-$14.

When: See PRCA rodeos at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and the Charreada at 6 p.m. Aug. 6.
