Close-ups of flower petals and portraits of distant lands highlight a new

photography exhibit on display at the Barry Singer Gallery through Sept. 8.

In ''Selected Images: 1990-2001,'' Brigitte Carnochan focuses on the

essential forms found in a slice of light or the dancing lines of a flower.

In ''Three Decades of Work: 1971-2002,'' Bruno Barbey plays off the

colorful hues and striking silhouettes of his native Morocco as well as

Portugal, Italy, India, China and Brazil.

The gallery is located at 7 Western Ave. in Petaluma and is open 11 a.m. to

6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday by appointment. Phone: 781-3200.
