Here's the latest update on the perpetually mutating club scene:

Fast Eddie's Saloon & Grill -- The popular greasy spoon on Fourth Street in

Santa Rosa has expanded its upstairs to accommodate a beer and wine bar, line

dancing and live country bands. From 9 p.m. to midnight daily, pub grub is

served in the refurbished loft. Live C&W bands play Friday and Saturday

nights. 546-3996.

The Funhouse -- Saturday's heavily touted techno night The Orb sunk a while

back, replaced by a generic DJ dance night made attractive by $1 drink

specials. Thursday has boldly become Two Steps Up, a country dancing showcase.

And Sundays are now Club Heaven, an ''alternative'' dance venue aimed at gays

and lesbians. 120 Fifth St., Santa Rosa. 545-1768.

Piero's -- Celebrity disc-spinner DJ Dave Matthias helms the turntable

Thursday and Saturday nights, playing house, deep house and Top 40. 96 Old

Courthouse Square, Santa Rosa. 523-3800.

Club Jes After 6 -The phone is disconnected at this short-lived jazz/blues

haunt in Santa Rosa, and reports have been flying that it's being remodeled

for a September reopening under new management.

Jungle -- The Ziggaraut name is gone but the palatial Guerneville space

remains a flashy dance spot. Open 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Thursday; 4-8 p.m. Friday and

Saturday is Happy Hour and dancing happens 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Also open 7 p.m.-12

a.m. Sunday. 869-1400.
