FLORAL DESIGNER MAKES SR VISIT

Reservation-only tickets for the Jan. 22 floral arrangement lecture and

demonstration by Manisse Newell still may be ordered by calling Alice Thomas

The Santa Rosa Garden Club is sponsoring Newell's 1 p.m. visit to the

Luther Burbank Art and Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa.

Newell has taken part in Bouquets to Art at the deYoung Museum in San

Francisco by exhibiting floral arrangements and telling how she created them.

Newell, who operates out of San Francisco, is nationally known and has

created floral designs for the San Francisco Opera Ball, the Presbyterian

Debutante Ball, the San Francisco Cotillion, the San Francisco Spinster's Ball

and the San Francisco Bachelor's Ball.

She has a special talent for combining flowers, containers and props to

create a loose, airy, romantic design. She works in Flemish, French, and

English country traditions.
