Mushroom Culture

Anna McHugh, mycologist from UCD, will tell about the history of mushroom use in the human culture and some basics about California mushrooms- where to find them, what to be wary of and some recent scientific discoveries of how mushroom mycelium is being used.
Anna will share some stories from a radio show she did on mycology and why mycology is a fascinating and growing field where amateurs can make significant discoveries.

She will then lead a hands-on workshop cultivating oyster mushrooms.
