Sara Choi, 17, of Montgomery High School is a gifted musician dedicated to sharing the joy of music with other children in the community.

Choi, a violinist, founded Music Outreach Education for Kids, an organization that provides free music lessons for underprivileged children. She has organized a dedicated core of high school musicians to give free music lessons to schoolchildren who would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument.

The music teachers specialize in violins, flutes, clarinets, tubas, saxophones and drums. Choi believes even if the young tuba and violin players do not continue with music they will gain valuable life lessons in time management, responsibility and perseverance.

Choi is the concertmaster of the Santa Rosa Youth Orchestra. She has performed violin concerts at many fund-raising events.
